Re: [Killietalk] Shows - new members

If you want new members, sell them real nice fish at fair prices, help them
a lot with setup and husbandry info showing real concern, and treat them
great all around. I do sell and ship a lot of easy species to new people
and in the end get most of them hooked and new AKA members. I take the time
to find out what they have kept in the past, what their water chemistry is
like, what temperatures they would have a tank at, what size tank they are
interested in having. Only then will I sell them anything, and nothing over
$10 a pair or over two species to start with. With that info, they are
likely to have success and become really interested in keeping killies. It
is not a good bet that a show will attract many though. Killie folk think
nothing of a 200+ mile drive to a show, but they are ALREADY addicted. New
members need good fish and great support, then they may venture out to a
show.
