Re: [Killietalk] Shows, fish and my eyes tear up at what must be going on at MAKA

Hi Ron all clubs have the same problem with the price of fish in there local
clubs. MKA takes $.50 per pair our minimum bid is $3.50.The only way to get
the price up is have new members at the meeting. elberti n'tue $3.00 the
clubs saturate each with the same fish. The best way is to exchange with
other clubs.Box for Box Or keep tabs of the fish that are sold& return the
moneys. I try to explain to the group if low ball all the fish it won't be
long no one will bring any to the meetings. All sexable killies are worth
$5.00

What are you talking about the "break even" types taking over? This topic
was actively debated and would have consumed the entire meeting time had not
a long time member jumped in demanding a vote. Well the vote was AT LEAST 2
to 1 in favor of setting a minimum $4 bid. This included a bunch of people
who seldom if ever bring auction items since auction items are mostly
supplied by a distnict minority of the membership. How is this a sad thing?
Most see it as a distinct improvemernt. You speak of a "reasonable" price"
.What is reasonable? Reasonable by your standards? It is increasingly
clear to me that the only way things change within this organization on a
number of levels is by a vote. Debates are endless preserving the status quo
regardless of how it was arrived upon or how unpopular it is. If the
alternative proposal had been unreasonable, it would have been voted down.
It wasn't and it wasn't close. Dollar signs in their eyes? Please. Makes
your eyes tear up at the thought? Cry me a river.
