Monty,
When I need any, I call my Dr. a week or two before an appointment and ask 
them to hold their boxes for me.  Unfortunately they are probably not the 
big ones you want, but they are the right price for 4 to 6 pairs of fish.

I'll check with someone I know at a lab to see if they reuse or dispose of 
their boxes.
