Re: [Killietalk] chocolate aus
You are correct, Bill. The modern dark chocolate as the "schwartzflosse
population, are aquarium strain that has been line bred for darker and
darker chocolate color, thus the so called "black tail" variety I enjoy so
much. The natural wild AUS are much lighter brown-red color and even have
some green or blue tints in the body. Indeed, we now have a wide variety of
different colors ranging from gold to red and yellow and on and on. In
fact, Gerhard Schrieber has developed a beautiful gold or yellow strain with
practically NO red dots which he has displayed (and therefore donated to
auction) at the last couple of AKA conventions. As you said, people have
varying tastes and styles of fashion change constantly. That applies also to
our killifish. It is good fun.
