Re: [Killietalk] A. sp. aff primigenium GBN 88-10
Matt,
Now you have me wondering. Is it ever proper to use (Genus) sp. (specific
epithet) or is it always going to be (Genus) sp. aff. (s.e.)?
Keith

According to the most recent "Wild Collections of Killifish" I have, the one
that goes through 2000 (a fabulous reference written by killie legend Roger
Langton and available through AKA), all the GBN 88* 'primigenium' are
'species affinis primigenium', though I've never seen any other than 'GBN
88-10', which I had and is a really nice killie to keep and breed.
Note that it's properly 'species affinis' not simply 'affinis'.
