Ive had great luck with USPS no matter whether its overnight express or
priority.   Ive learned a few things that help my post office and that
if i ship on Saturdays using priority i get my best results for a
quickest delivery date, no matter where in the country i send something.
Of course shipping with USPS into California from the East coast is a
crap shoot ive discovered.   Sometimes box gets there on time, others it
takes 10 days for a priority box to get there, this is one of the
reasons ive never given live arrival on anything going into
california.... the post office there is just a mess.
Sorry, but its true.

Now as for living near a major airport hub, im out in boonie land.   I
live in the middle of the Adirondack park, in northern NY, 3+ hours to a
major airport, yet my USPS works well.   Im lucky from what ive read
about other ppls problems using the post office, my post master works
great with me, so do the ppl at the counter, both are friends of mine,
living in a small rural community helps sometimes....

I asked about them about the switch from Fedex to UPS as their overnight
delivery carrier and how that will affect prices or service and was told
they didnt know yet.   

Wish all post offices worked as nicely as mine does..... sorry for you
all that have poor service.
I have found that for regional shipping, UPS ground is cheap and better
service then Priority mail.   Anything to a state bordering on New York
state is there within 2days, sometimes next day... for dirt cheap
prices...  Maybe ppl should check out this service for their region.
