Sponge filters on all my tanks, except for my planted display tanks where I
use my old Eheim canisters - mostly for superior mechanical filtration,
these tanks must have crystal-clear water, plus I like a minimum of
equipment showing.

Check out http://www.ultimatesponge.com for some really well designed,
simple, fry-friendly sponge filters. 4 for under $20. I have quite a few and
I'm very happy with them.
