They may do well together.  If you have a planted tank that does well, it 
must have "fine gravel" not coarse gravel or fine sand.  This is great for 
the gularis.  Just do as normal and siphon clean the gravel into a container 
about every 6 to 8  weeks and the fry should hatch out in the container. 
Don't toss the siphoned junk and water.  They should have eggs in it many 
ready to hatch as soon as you siphon them out cleaning the gravel.  Fry of 
neither would survive in the tank.  The sjoestedti will water incubate while 
burried and they will not lay eggs on the plants.  The Epis may lay eggs in 
the upper plants and maybe, just maybe some will survive but do not count on 
it heavily.  IF you have few floating plants, give them a floating mop and 
move it (and replace it with a new one) to a container to incubate any eggs 
in it.
