If they are laying eggs, some may survive in the tank, but many will get
eaten as eggs or fry. This is what works for me. I have a pair in a 2.5 gallon
tank with one or two mops and some Java Moss. I feed them newly hatched brine
shrimp every day and daphnia when I have some. I pick eggs every day when I get
the time. I keep those eggs for a few days in chlorinated tap water (this is
essential for me) and then change to dechlorinated tap water. They hatch in
10-20 days depending on temperature. I don't do anything special about the water,
except change it frequently. No heater, cooler is better.
