Re: [Killietalk] Why new members leave and an idea for new members

Here is my problem with the AKA as of now, and it is
in your list of reasons for not renewing. I need to
find fish and eggs. I do not have the local groups. I
have to cross into 2 states to reach the nearest one.
I have to say the number of listings in this last BNL
were up and I know it is partly due to season. But
there should be 300 or more people listing fish. I
know I am listing what few I have. I brought this up
on killietalk a while back and got some good and bad
feed back off list and on list. The AKA as a group can
not force you to list fish or eggs that you are
producing. Yet when someone joins killietalk and ask
where do I get these fish they are told join the AKA
and you will get the BNL with the F&E listings. I know
the number of members with extra fish or eggs has to
be over 50%. If you do not think it is worth your time
and hassle to sell them through the F&E then ask alot
more than anyone else in there does. Then atleast if I
want that type of fish I can pay the price and aquire
it. What I am saying is make it worth your while to do
so, if this is your reason. I understand the seasonal
problems like to cold or hot during part of the year
in your area to ship and recieve safely. I even have
to deal with this. So I understand why there is so few
listing in winter. But what is everyones excuse now.

I plan on staying with the AKA if I can afford it.
I am going through a divorce and am now a single
father with 4 kids. I am moving in the next month or 2
so I did not relist my fish in the F&E. And this
upsets me as I know how hard it is for me to get
killies and I feel it is my duty as a member to list
my eggs(currently no fish available). But for now it
is out of my control due to everything happening here.
I hope when the time comes this fall I have the money
to spare to renew my membership and if not you really
have not lost me as I will be here. I am moving into a
house with a garage which will be a fishroom as soon
as the current person gets moved into their new house.

Because of the Ex leaving me, my plans to attend the
convention where destroyed. I doubt it will be that
close again for many years unless Cin. Ohio group
takes the challenge. I do hope to attend a convention
in the next few years. I would love to meet many of
you in person. I am going to try and plan a get away
for me late summer early fall and travel to the Cin
Ohio group meeting just to be around killifolk. I know
just being around the fish heads at a local aquarium
group was great.
