         two other methods you may try, first, use a few strands of a mop 
you an wrap it in a twisted string and since the eggs are adhesive they 
will do fine , sealed in a small bag.   You can put a layer of bubble wrap 
if you want or send in a small bubble wrap mail envelope.

         A small damp piece of sponge...............  again just damp, eggs 
in the holes in the sponge,   a little tough to cut a sponge in a think 
layer, but some craft stores sell think sponge and it works fine.

         I've used both methods.
