[Killietalk] people

You see sir, this is the second time you have me in the middle of something
I wish not to be in at all and you have now, as I feared, misinterpreted my
words which I will take care of immediately.

Let me be REAL clear so NO ONE has to interpret like me like an Ayn Rand
novel.

You said "There is NO complex derivative, just plainly stated, that at
times those words

have been uttered and more times than not, to keep the objective or focus
on

  the fish themselves."

Your key phrase being " . . . to keep the objective or focus on

  the fish themselves."

I did NOT mean to "KEEP THE FOCUS ON THE FISH" with what I said! I think
the convention is ABOUT THE PEOPLE! I don't know how more clearly I can
make this statement. I was putting the PEOPLE PICTURES FIRST by choice and
the FISH PICTURES LATER . . . I just don't know how much clearer I can make
this?

Possibly it is my lack of clarity and terribly written wit at the moment so
I have re-written my intro to the pictures on the web site. I think it will
be clear this time.

Perhaps people are not re-joining AKA for reasons other than the club . . .
take this as an example. We have a club, SKS . . . a group of wonderful men
and women and the associated TBAS group, that has literally busted their
asses for literally 8 months and all we get is how it should have been
better and you could have done this or could have done that and you left
this out and that out . . . I am done! REALLY DONE . . . and it has nothing
to do with the AKA . . . and as you say sir, no one will whimper!

1st off it may be better not to try and "decipher" or interpret what I
say, it usually

works better, as in this case. And having no reason to associate anyone to
good

or bad, if I wanted to do that, it'd be pretty clear. Saying "not in any
particular

context", I thought would abdicate that.

There is NO complex derivative, just plainly stated, that at times
those words

have been uttered and more times than not, to keep the objective or focus
on

  the fish themselves.

Has anyone even heard of a program with visual aids, depicting nothing
but

the social and entertainment value of any Killie function or organization,
no,

because it's felt the hospitality room and "roaming" suffices. Imagine new

members seeing a bunch of "crazies" at different venues having a GREAT
time,

maybe even caught precariously "in the moment" ? Might not do anything for

a science major, but last time I checked, they don't make up 90% of the
hobby.

Point being, over the last 10 years, everything seems to stem from
"revenues".

We create something new, everybody must pay, irregradless. Software

compaines sometimes "give" updates to their already paid customers.
There's

more to this, but this is going to be long enough. I've know members, long
time

members who don't even hear a whimper when they don't renew, that
definitely

  sends a message to me.

I firmly believe if this doesn't change, the AKA will continue to
decline. Either

members will get out altogther, or form ranks with affiliates which is and
has

  been happening.

There was a time the BNL / F&E cornered the market to the memberships,

well those days are gone. Now it's publications and "some" information,
well

the Internet will take care of that too. What some fail to see, its NOT
just the

$26 the members give, they give HOURS & dollars to continue to add to the

hobby, shows etc. So when someone talks of ways to "give back" to its

members, think about that for awhile. There are ALOT of ways to do this,

but there has to be an attitude to do it first, and we're not talking
breaking the

  bank either.

So without dragging this out, Greg's statement especially had some good

ideas. I could see new member name tags having a bright red background

where you could easily identify them and take 10 minutes to chat and make

  them feel comfortable.

To bad I missed ya at Tampa, but then again, I saw alot of new faces.
If you

were at the open BOT mtg., then maybe I saw ya.

  Lay'Ta,
