Re: [Killietalk] 1st conventioneers
Hello All,
Not to Lable people but maybe that is what could be done. Ist timer!!
maybe more appropriate. a welcome me sign. Even with a greeter or
something of the sort they could still get lost in the shuffle. Maybe an
asterick next to the name. I know that I would approach them if I had even
a little Idea that they were new. I have gained quite a few new friends
sitting at the back of the auction just asking the simple question "are
those bidders nuts"
I was a newby at the 1985 convention in Chicago. No you do not want to know
how old I was then. But I was welcomed because of a long history with old
friends.
I will be bringing some newbies to WAKO next year. They just do not know
that yet.
I think the newbie at each table would be a good idea except it could end up
a rather uncomfortable situation for the new comer that was not terribly
outgoing.
For future first timers. Hit the Hospitality room. There is enough BS
floating around there to get your fill. Always some outgoing personality to
keep things entertaining. Foot readings. You name it.
Do not forget to hang out with the smokers. We are not as evil as is
portrayed. Some of the best conversations I have are hanging out with them.
Jim, Arch, and Nick are always a treat. You have your Kathetys table,
elegans table, rivulus table, SAA table DO NOT forget the smokers
discussion board.
We will be meeting outside any nearest entrance HE HE.
God Bless, Lee <><
