     IF you want an almost bulletproof solution to all this garbage as I call it,
  register muke up, cache magnet, viruses, etc., and Trojans thought that was
  a different subject, OH that trojan ok... 
       Well anyway, quit wasting all your time and money, buying this and that,
  on top of this and that, when you can have one (1) program that has, for now,
  STOPPED everything from altering a well setup PC. The program is called
  DRIVESHIELD, and Microsoft has a similar (FREE) utility which creates a 
  virtual image, which so far has not been phased by the latest birage of viruses,
  kiddie hacks etc.
      Since I have the responsibility of making sure several PC's are available to
  the public and staff, and are readily "used & abused" by same. In the nearly 3
  years, have NOT been able to permanetly take any system down.
      The program runs around $20, but it's the best 20 you'll ever spend - FYI !

  I have just been made aware of a very good program for hunting down and 
eliminating Trojan horses, spyware and other "malware". 

There are several well regarded trojan trackers, but this one is eWido. 
Download the trial version at www.ewido.com. I liked it enough to pay 
the $29 for the full license.
