[Killietalk] Pupfish...Cyprinodon Rubrofluviatilis--Red River pupfish

hello all, I realize many are at the convention but I wanted to get some info and hopefully someone is still out there that can help me. The only pupfish I've kept before were jordanella floridae and this weekend I went out collecting here in Oklahoma and brought home a ton of red river pupfishes (cyprinodon rubrofluviatilis). I set up a 30 long outside and tried to match the salinity (they were at 1.008 or higher) and added some plants from some of my aquariums (hopefully they survive the salt for awhile). I fed them a bunch of baby brine shrimp last night and added some spirulina pellets for bottom feeding. Today they appeared to be picking at the plants and gravel so hopefully they were finding some foods. Eventually the tank should be self-sustaining once some critters and algae start to form but until then, I'd like to feed them but can't really find anything about their native foods. I believe most cyprinodon are vegetarians but I've made that mistake before.
Tonight I threw in a bunch of drosophila melanogaster and some earthworm pellets. Many of the fry too small to eat the flies were picking at them and some of them seemed interested in the pellets but not sure they were eating or not. any advice of what would be best to feed them would be great... thanks, Kyle Osterholt, Oklahoma
