Hi Lisa,

   Last I heard - I95 was being closed slightly south of Daytona Beach
area (Port Orange to Edgewater).   Anyone traveling from the north will
turn onto Interstate 4 before reaching the closed area.

   You take I-4 from Daytona region to Tampa (traveling through Orlando
etc.).

   While you may hit some traffic and possibly a detour here and there -
it should not be a major problem traveling that way.

An alternative route which may be just slightly longer is to change from
I-95 to I-10 in Jacksonville, then change onto I75 south to the Tampa
region.  I believe it connects to I-4 a bit east of Tampa.

I was watching CNN last night and heard that I-95 is
shut down due to Wild Fires...it did not show a
map....is this fire anywhere near Tampa? I was
considering driving to the convention - I am coming
from the north and the best route in for me is I-95.

I am slighly concerned due to growing up around wild
fires and having roads closed for weeks... I do not
mean to panic anyone just looking for info...
