Re: [Killietalk] Attendance at events

Money is a relative thing. You put it where you want to put it. Almost
everyone has "discressionary" money. Some go out to eat (even if at
McDonalds) some bowl, some golf, some drink or buy toys. It is really
usually a matter of where you want to put it. I figure a convention to be
about $600. That covers lodging, travel, meals and a few fish purchases for
a great weekend getaway. Not too bad. Bring some fish to sell and cut the
cost somewhat too. That is $50 a month. Probably equivalent to 2 rounds
of golf a month for the summer, plus a real cheap bowling league for the
winter, or maybe a weekly dining at McDonalds. Not all that extravagant
living. I am sure some people just do not have the money to come based on
distance some years, but I think that does not apply to most. A matter of
where you put your priorities. Same goes for scheduling. I know of few
things that I can plan many years in advance and know the exact date as is
for the AKA convention.
