Hi,

         You cannot go wrong with a Nikon or Cannon DSLR, they are in 
control of the market and competition is driving quality up and prices 
down.    Your real use and pocketbook should determine the model

         Just remember Camera's do not take pictures, 
lenses  do.................. save up your money and buy the finest macro or 
micro you can afford.  They will insure you have the optics for the camera 
you have chose...........  all of these macro zooms etc, are trying to be 
all things to all people...............  Macro lenses are some of the 
finest optics in the world and work well as a general short portrait lens.

         If I were buying one macro it would probably be in the 60mm range.

         I have used and can recommend..............  www.keh.com  ... 
their used lenses rated excellent or above are outstanding as is their new 
equipment.

         17th St Photo in NY........... is on the web and 
reliable.............  there are many others, one of the largest in the 
world is B&H Photo.


         Just be careful you buy a US camera body and lens  .. the Gary 
market or imported have a lower price on them, but they have no warrantee 
with Nikon.............
