Re: [Killietalk] West Coast Weekend Schedule of events -- Tirbak's talk history talk
Hi Barry,
I agree, Vancouver City was a jewel. I was there the least amount of time but a lucky wrong turn took me into the heart of the city and WOW! I was in Nanaimo and was going to see Brian but he was in Africa. We did make it to the cool bug zoo in Victoria! I imagine Oregon is nice too. Even with a strong economy, I bet the area would still be something else as it just has so much to work with. I even loved the weather. Seattle a a good looking city. Ambitious campaign to turn the city's roofs into green space. The convention center looked good with all the plants climbing over its roof. A whole other mentality than that of oil centered Texas.

Bobby,
You were right in Brian Watters backyard. He lives on Vancouver Island
now, in Nanaimo, having moved there after retiring It is beautiful
country. Oregon is too. It's economy is not so good, but perhaps
"unspoiled" and "bad economy" go hand in hand. The water is very soft.
Great for many spp., but I have to harden it for my Nothos.
Vancouver would have to be my favorite city in the world. If I had to
live in a city, it would be there.
I'll try to remember to let you know when the DVDs from WCW XV are
available.

I just returned from a worldwind trip through Seattle, Vancouver and Vancouver island and I have never seen just beautiful, clean and inspiring country in my life. It makes Texas look like a garbage dump. The water was so soft right out of the tap. Perfect fish conditions.

I for one would very much like to have a copy as the history of our hobby is a particular interest of mine. Peter's West Coast take on the AKA from its founding will be a welcome addition to the more common East Coast/MidWest stories. This is a program that should be preserved for all. Important stuff.
