Re: [Killietalk] Congo river and Lake Chad

Lake Chad is the general location for N. rubroreticulatus and possibly a
couple epiplatys and/or Lampeyes. At this time, it is an extremely
unexplored region - Brian Watters and friends did complete a recent trip
there and reported some of their success on KillieTalk.

The Congo River is a whole different thing. The drainage and region
surrounding it contain dozens, if not over a hundred species and
populations - many probably unknown - of Aphyosemion, Lampeyes, and
Epiplatys. A lot of the known Aphyosemions are members of the elegans
grouping.

Subject: [Killietalk] Congo river and Lake Chad

Does anyone know what species of killies would be living in Lake Chad or
in the nearby drainages. I had the question come up at our local
general aquarium society and didn't have a complete answer. Does anyone
have experience in this area or could point me to info about collection
trips there?
