Re: [Killietalk] Hatching decapped artemia

I have tried the decap kind but find I lose most to sticking to the
container above the hatching water. I have tried swishing them back down
but still not good.

I also felt that there were a lot unhatched at the end.
So I have a bottle in my fridge from BDS but doubt I would use them. I will
stick to the regular eggs.
I used to decap my own but had exactly the same results with most stuck
above the water line.

Subject: [Killietalk] Hatching decapped artemia

I am interested in opinions/advice about hatching commercially sold
decapsulated artemia. From what the salesmen pitch, it seems like it would
save time by not dealing with the shells and unhatched eggs.

Other than the price, what other drawbacks are there ? Is refrigeration a
MUST ? Is hatch time the same ? Do they ship ok ? How many artemiae are
there in 1oz of decapsulated artemia vs. 1oz or regular artemia ? Any
specific brand that works out better than others ?

thanks much,
