[Killietalk] ARK Cactus Killie Cook-Out Speaker - Al Morales

The Arizona Rivulin Keepers (ARK) 8th annual Cactus Killie Cook-Out is
approaching. March 11th is only a month away. There are three excellent
speakers on the agenda, and you should seriously consider attending.

We previously mentioned that Tony Terceira will be presenting two topics -
one a photography workshop and other about the old "Roloffia" group.
Another speaker will be Al Morales on his favorite subject - Pupfish.

Al Morales lives in Colorado and probably deserves the nickname "Mr.
Pupfish" as he has worked with pupfish species for over 35 years. Al
maintains a refugium where he maintains a large number of Cyprinodon (and
other) species, including some where he has obtained special permits from
states and other agencies. He has participated in the pupfish inventory at
Devil's Hole (in the Ash Meadows Refuge in Nevada) and is one of the few
people allowed to go diving there. Al was a featured speaker at the
American Killifish Association Convention in 2004 and currently serves as
the lead person for the AKA's Cyprinodon Species Maintenance Group.

If you have any interest in pupfishes, you want to be at the Cactus Killie
Cook-Out. Check the ARK website (http://ark.aka.org) for more details and
updates. Although there is no registration fee, we do ask that you notify
us ahead of time as we provide a free dinner!
