    I also agree. The key is whatever works for you. I have several times 
found that folks do well in their own water without knowing what it is. That's 
fine, but in the context of this discussion, which started with two well 
experienced killifish folks discussing what they had to do to correct a new 
situation. They recognized immediately there was a problem when they moved to a 
different water supply. What would have happened if a novice experienced the same 
difficulty? They probably would have given up on killifish. I realized long ago, 
that Nothobranchius did not live a long time in my water, but I knew that many 
other killifish did fine, so I just gave up on Nothobranchius species. 
Obviously, that was not an attractive option for Barry. So, he found out the problem 
and corrected it. There is still more to learn about water chemistry or 
rather the chemistry of dilute aqueous solutions and its relationship to killifish 
husbandry.
