Re: [Killietalk] Please send only on topic messages
Guilty! And surley we can appreciate the difficulty moderating, esp if some
of us "deviate" with a lil humor...We are talking about "list quality", so
hardly rebuking that message.....but as to the "complaining":
"We are losing members because they have to weed through many messages
before they get to relevant ones"
Adults can and will be manipulative; even within the venue of a hobby,
("hobby" being a lower priority activity should vary between "enlightenment"
and "entertainment")....so I can easily imagine a scenario where a
"complainer" really has a "one-on-one" issue, and uses the above response in
a private communique to the mods as a "control mechanism". Not a stretch to
see that "relevent topic" could be narrower in scope and inclusive to only
what intrest that individual (or only a narrow range of post by a narrower
range of collegues)...
Ken...just an opinion as there is always a thin line between influence and
manipulation

Subject: [Killietalk] Please send only on topic messages
I am behind on reading the KillieTalk messages but I started receiving
multiple complaints about messages without appropriate content. I did a
random check of messages and the complaints appear to be valid.
Please send private messages when you do not have appropriate content for
the fish list. We are losing members because they have to weed through many
messages before they get to relevant ones. Everyone has something to offer
and so when the list loses a member, we all lose.
I really appreciate your cooperation with this request.
Ken
