Yeah, or it could be from 1/4-1/3 of the USA's population "flushing"
something else into the Great Lakes (I'm sure a lot of "nutrients" are in
those flushes) <LOL>
L.Erie has a lot of toilets to deal with considering Greater Detroit to
Buffalo, NY (that's more major cities than the Gulf of Mexico)...If you
think about it, almost more comforting to just vote towards the "right" and
buy bottled water <chuckle>
KC....
We used to joke that on a bad day drinking Cincinnati tap water, "Ah, you
can taste Pittsburgh" (or Wheeling or Parkersburg). Release of
treated/processed water from the MSD in Cincinnati would always produce a sag
in water quality usually signified by a significant reduction in dissolved
oxygen. One would worry if the sag stretched down river to the Markland Lock
and Dam around 50 miles downstream. In most cases, flow through the spillway
gates would produce recovery. Sort of makes you wonder why you would even
attempt to drink water in New Orleans!
BTW, hoping all you Seahag fans get a nasty taste of the "Burgh" this
weekend!
