This makes me think... Unusual I know! There is a LFS here in Huntsville, AL that never has anything. Every time I go in there the tanks are almost empty. They have no live plants. They always say they will get a shipment on Tuesday and they will be happy to special order anything I want... How do they survive? They can't possibly sell enough to cover rent, let alone utilities or other expenses. Other people I know that have gone in there say the same thing. Some have even suggested that they are a front, or a tax write off, for some illegal activity. Any ideas???
John in you know where.

I couldn't agree more Karen. I miss the real LFS, We have about two decent ones in the Denver area and I do my best to support them.
But, I recall last year. I realized there were a few stores I'd never seen, so one Sunday I set out to visit them. What I saw was like an earlier comment: dirty tanks, empty tanks, sickly stock, hoses running all over the floor, buckets all over the place.
Competition is tough out there and if you can't run a professional place you're not going to last long (and they're gone already)
Edd.
