Re: [Killietalk] Couple of questions
I have no idea why my email is so messed up this last
week. I got a reply before getting the email. I am
trying to raise killies commercially. I am starting
small like I did years ago with livebearers and
working my way to higher numbers. I sold roughly 300
adult golden wonders last summer/fall. I plan on
raising Fp. gardneri clauseni Akure this year to the
mass production. On a smaller scale I hope to have
orange australes as well. All large number production
is done outdoors in any large thing that holds water
and is fish safe and cheap(old fridges on their back
in my best thing right now). I would love to do
business with you later in the year.
I have some of the Fp. gardneri clauseni akure that
are just now sexing out that will be ready as soon as
the weather warms up and a few notho. korthausae which
should be sexing out soon. They are 4 weeks old but
they have been in a room temp tank that is about 70F.
So in another 3 to 4 weeks I should have 10 pair of
killies ready to ship south.
How far south of Chatanooga are you? I am 80 miles
north west of there. Meeting another killie nut would
be worth my trip. Atlanta is a 4 1/2 drive for me so I
could drive it in about 5 1/2 hours with having to
stop once to releave my bad back. If your willing to
raise some fish I could also have a few more species
of eggs.
If you search the archive for commercial killies, we
had a good discussion awhile back about this. I would
love to see your store as a spark for the love of
killies. Another thing that was brought up is I would
like to have a club closer to me and you are sort of
within range(not a monthly trip but a couple times a
year easily). And you have a big enough pool of people
to actually succeed with a club unlike me. Just a few
thoughts.
