Re: [Killietalk] New member to Killitalk
Howdy Josh?
If one were to bother saying the "awkward/unsaid"; safe bet most will
affirm/endorse the below recount anyway....
- if you ask a question and don't get the expected flurry of replies; there
are reason'(s) for this: one is this list is simply mature and many of the
regular posters (to their credit) have likely already typed hours worth of
replies on the subject. Secondly: there are usually a endless number of
pertinent variables potentially affecting the answer, or multiple possible
answers to a procedure...
(basically the complexity & subtleties of the killifish are their "draw" in
the first place)...check the mail list archives first (or act as if you
did), and your questions will be more finely-tuned to draw a more
comprehensive reply...
- You were given a link to Tim Addis's site...no accident... either for
effort on Tim's behalf or by default...a safe opinion is: sorta "THE"
electronic "bible" for killie info (esp. w/regard to "free", internet,
up-to-date)....get a un-familiar fish, I go there 1st...
- You were gently "steered" to start with another "less difficult" fish...I
may/may not subscribe to that, I do understand the intent/logic: basically
to optimize ones "success" 1st...many folks simply have seen their share of
fustrated/disintrested "comers and go-ers"
- I would not be surprised if you got at least one private communique for
free fish already...this is because IMO, taken as a "body" the community
might superficially appear "quirky" (a unique set of group behaviors
interactively and in unison, which I delight in disturbing BTW)...However;
taken individually; I have yet to find a single person who's generosity &
kindness wasn't noteworthy...No doubt our collective experiences have been
richer in the longer run .....Take er easy and hope you stick around
...KC
