One way to get rid of them that I haven't heard is to use rubbing 
alcohol.  For your soil culture, saturate a paper towel in alcohol, and 
dab the surface of the soil, and wipe the inside surfaces of the 
container.  The alcohol will kill the maggots and the flies.  Any worms 
below the surface of the soil should be reasonably protected, and come 
back up after the alcohol has evaporated.

I haven't used this method myself, but was told about it by Dave Suffia. 
  In his experience, it worked like a charm, and eliminated the infestation.
