Re: [Killietalk] ab
I find this discussion terribly amusing.
When I was chairman in 2003 the online listing for sale of fish, eggs
and killie-related materials was one of the hot topics. We battled to
get it implemented and at that time Barry proposed a good system and it
was approved by the BOT.
Since then a couple things have happened:
1) The system was changed to become unwieldy and near impossible to use
(without BOT consideration and approval)
2) Because of this, few people use it anymore.
I repeat my request to return to the old easily-used system, The one
that WAS approved by the BOT after much study, review and careful
consideration.

The registry is still there and easily accessible. The hardest thing
about
using it I find is that people don't update their listings. I think an
auction format might see more action. I'm not so sure it would see
enough
action to justify a seperate auction site from aquabid. I don't think
the
fish section on aquabid has ever seen a lot of use, especially it seems
from
the members. I rarely see anything worth bidding on, and that's the way
it's been as long as I've been in the hobby. And the problem with the
eggs
listing isn't lack of good fish, but they're nearly all from outside of
the
US, and nearly all from non-members. I think a for sale-trade/wanted to
buy
public forum could see more use than an auction site at this point. But
again the forums on the AKA site don't see much action either and that's
redundant as the registry already has this function and people don't
seem to
use it much.
