Re: [Killietalk] Bottom Sliders
pH has some effect on belly sliders is some fish. A friend
of mine was breeding Pappilliochromis ramerezi, ram dwarf
cichlids. He had to get the pH down to 5.0 to get the
parents to spawn. He then raised the young in 5.0 water as
well. The vast majority always turned out to be belly
sliders. After talking with a breeder in Germany, he
advised me to tell my friend that once the fry were free
swimming, to slowly raise the pH to 7.0 over a few days.
He did this and he hasn't had any belly sliders since.
