Re: [Killietalk] My Golden Wonders have me in fits!!!!!!!!!!

Yah, Gary. KeeHoe = Markc. I bought some from local fish shop and play
with them a while before i return them all to the shop as i run out of
tank space.

Now i am breeding ZII, which is similar to LIN in many aspect but more
colourful. I can't say it is more beautiful as the bright golden colour
of LIN makes it outstanding compare to other fishes.

I do agree that no matter what food you feed them, they will still
produce eggs. The difference is quantity and quality.
Whenever i feed them life tubiflex (once or twice a day) I get lots of
good quality eggs. 10-20 perday (after the fish intentionally burst a
few of them.). I guess i should try use bigger mop or put another one
next to the original.

Yes, it is very difficult to pick eggs off java moss. I gave up on the
attempt and put all the java moss (together with eggs maybe)
into my lampeyes tank and shrimp tank. Yesterday i found a Apy. fry in
my lampeyes tank. It can only be either EXO or CYA. So i am not worry
about mixing them up, i only have to look into its eyes to identify
them. The size is bigger than the mouth of the lampeyes. So it should be
quite save to let it continue hiding in the thick java mosses.

KeeHoe (Markc)

The tanks had old mops from other killies throw in, they had sunk, and I would find a fair amount (15 or so) of eggs in the mops each day. I am not a large-scale breeder, and I didn't raise any of these guys up, since I planned on moving the parents outside, where they'd be more productive (but fish can't be productive if they jump out and die...). Anyway, I did get enough eggs to sell some off (did those EVER get to you, KeeHoe aka Markc?). Thus, I conclude that it can be done indoors with sinking mops in community tanks where everybody gets flake food. Just goes to show that this fish will breed just about anytime, anywhere...
