Re: [Killietalk] Acriflavine sub? Was RE: Use of Acriflavine

My experience has been that most killies do fine in 62 degree water. I have
3 Aphyos, 1 Script, 3 Fundulo, and 3 Nothos all more than happy to lay eggs
in 62 degree water. I incubate all of my eggs on peat, thus avoiding the
perceived necessity for acriflavine, methylene blue, formaldehyde, ethylene
glycol, frankincense, or myrrh. Air temp is a bit higher than the water, so
I'd say my eggs incubate at around 66 degrees, and all seem happy.

Fish that won't lay eggs for me at these temps are the Chromaphyosemions. Am
I right here, or am I doing something else wrong? If folks are getting eggs
from cold Chrom's, I'd love to hear from you.
