I use the name golden wonder as that is usually what this fish is
called in petstores...and yes, it is what we now know as Aplocheilus
lineatus. I've seen some at stores nicer than the fish in the attached
photo though...they were brilliant yellow turning into a fiery red at
the fin trimmings...they caught my eye instantly. A LFS guy in my city
that was eventually forced to close and move out his store showed me a
golden wonder that had fantastic colors and looked to be at leat 6
inches.

The wild type Aplocheilus lineatus seems to be gone though, except
perhaps for some golden wonders who faintly show those stripes.
