         Well,  I have had the same strain of emperor Tetras, Nematobrycon 
palmeri for 30 years.  Three times during that period I have added a fish 
from another source, but they have been set up in their own 20 long heavily 
planted, and today in a heavily planted 10 gallon tank.  I did  set them up 
to breed occasionally in the late 70's and early 80's.   when I was 
breeding fish  for resale.
