Re: [Killietalk] Killies at LFS's
Some AKA advertising in LFS and fish
magazines
is sorely needed if we are going to get the young
people involved - BUT
-
They gotta find us first!!!!
I agree TFH and all the Major magazines should have
something about the AKA somewhere. I think TFH did
this for free for many years perhaps they still do. I
Also feel we should write articles for the magazines
and while we have this captive audience tell them
about the AKA. This could revitalize the AKA forums!
and add a host of people to Killietalk. Pictures are
worth a thousand words a few articles with some good
pictures will attract more people then we can handle.
People will flock to the AKA website where they can
see the beginners guide and find the AKA SITE To be a
great resource.
Keep in mind that in Europe Killies are produced
commercially! I know some of us may find that hard to
believe but it is true. They sell for $.50-$2 each
depending on species. To my amazement one supplier
from the Europe even had Diapterons for sale. I Also
know of a few wholesalers in the USA that bring in
some of these fish from Europe and from what I hear
the Killies are gone day one. So go ahead sell the
killies to your lfs, if we have a presence in the
major mags and we are also getting killies to the lfs
then this may provide a way to get more people
involved in the AKA. Just my 2 old rusty pennies
worth.
