Re: [Killietalk] need for guidelines was Which Fp. walkeri
Feed lots of blackworms prior to putting them in a small tank with a thin
(1/4") layer of peat over the bottom for a week. You should get plenty of
eggs this way. Incubate for 4-6 weeks. I do Fp. gar. nig. Misaje this way
and can get upwards of 85+ fry to hatch at once. I've never kept Akure, but
I don't think they're stingy with eggs. I never get more than a dozen eggs
if using mops for gardneri. My lineatus aren't overly productive either.
They're getting old though too. If Akure doesn't do it for mass production
(if that's what you want) try Misaje or N'sukka.
We all do better with different types of fish. I happen to be better with
peat than mops. Aphyosemions have never been my friend. :) Doesn't stop
me from trying to keep them though.
