 I was thinking more along Joseph's post. I think I
would find 2 different species that would not make
hybrids so to fill the different areas of the tank.
Australes stay in the middle to bottom of the tank so
an Epiplatys that stays near the top of the tank would
give you a bit more movement and color. In my 55
gallon tank the A. lineatus golden wonders stayed at
the top of the tank and the gardneri stayed in the
middle to bottom and they got along great before I
moved them to their own 10s and used the tank for
African cichlids. BTW I was collecting eggs from both
species. The floating mops had the golden wonder eggs
and the sunken mops had the gardneri eggs. Very rarely
did I ever get a fry from the other species from the
eggs gathered this way and it was alway a gardneri in
my golden wonders. Just my idea as a 75 gallon tanks
is deep.
