[Killietalk] couple newbie questions

Hi,

 

I'm just getting ready to set up my first few tanks for raising killies.  I
was wondering if you guys worry at all about the bottom color of the tank.
My tanks will be sitting on plywood.  Normally I have my tanks resting on a
piece of light blue stryfoam.

 

For those of you raising your spawning pairs in heavily planted tanks and
letting the eggs/fry stay in the tank with the parents, do you add food for
the fry - newly hatched brine shrimp, microworms, etc.?  Or do you just let
the fry feed off what the find amongst all the plants till they're big
enough to start feeding off what you feed the parents?
