[Killietalk] Air pump advice

Hi all,
I recently decided to change over from power filters on all my
tanks to air operated filtration. I hope I'll be able to save some on
electricty and I won't have as big an expense when I add tanks.
I bought a used Whitewater LT26 pump and haven't finalized my
manifold system. The other day my local pet store gave me their old
Spencer Vortex Blower (model no. 006S) for a promise of nice guppies
and black angels.
Now I have a pleasant predictament. Which pump should I keep and which
should I sell.
The Blower was run with out an intake filter and needs a few parts
replaced. While either pump will meet my needs, I'm thinking the
blower might be the one to keep. It has a capacity of 12.4 CFM at 14"
H2O and a maximum pressure of 25" H2O. The LT26 has a capacity of
about 5 CFM at 0" H20.
Right now I'll have about 30 outlets, ten of which will be in
tanks 18" deep. I'm leaning towards keeping the blower even though
it's a little more beat up. It delivers at least three times more air
and I'll not get much more selling the blower than I'll get selling the
LT26. Is this the right decision?
I haven't any idea how operation costs or noise level compare and
may be ignorant of other factors as well. If any one has had
experience with both types of pumps, I would appreciate some input.
