Re: [Killietalk] Sending money to Brazil
BTW, that's a good suggestion Karen...
I can understand if no one points this out; as mentioning the following
recount has some unintentional "inuendo" implied...(still I've never let
that stop me if "I see what I see")
But looks all of a sudden there seems to be some nice killies coming out of
there, I can see that happening "above board" as enthusiast get active, fish
reproduce and normal "dynamics" take place ...
Unfortunatley about 3-4 "0/0" sellers are trying to auction some pretty
"choice" fish, and considering their proximity to the fishes origins, seems
natural...NTM, people have to start somewhere...
Problem is the cash exchange constraints & the feedback history makes the
risk a lil "sorted", I'm the trusting type, and for a $20 "hit" I figure may
as well see "whats what"...
Ken .....

Just send a check made out for the proper amount of US dollars(there's a
currency conversion chart online I'm sure!) or go to a bank and get a money
order payable in Brazilian currency and mail it to the person directly.
Hopefully that would go through without a glitch. Another possible option is
to go to a Latino grocer who offers money transfer services, all the little
grocers here offer money transfers to Latin America, and due to the fact a
lot of these folks are illegals, they can't go through 'traditional'
channels for sending money.
I would guess that the number of illegals in this country are a factor,
there is a new Brazilian transfer service set up by the Brazilian govt so
that Brazilians living abroad(55% of them are in the US, many are not here
legally) can send money home through the national bank.
