Re: [Killietalk] something different
That'd be tuff/beard/black algae...you are probably seeing it on the edges
of older broad leafed plants I'd bet (like Java Fern & Swords or older Val
leaves)...
So bump up "something", more or less, your plants are likley slowing
down...for that, I try K 1st, then maybe trace...(N & FE would be last)...it
can come & go w/the ebb & flow (or lack of) certain nutrients, I don't see
it too often in active/aggresivley growing planted tanks...SAE's & Limas
sometimes will eat it (as a last choice)

Subject: [Killietalk] something different
Warning Non Political Issue Follows;
Mandatory killie content is my 180 gallon planted sjo tank.
This tank has wall to wall plants with no algae at all present in the tank.
All of a sudden I am getting this black stuff that looks like little woolie
worms on the edges of some of the leaves.
Does any one know what it is and how to get rid of it?
Thanks a bunch.
Allan
