Re: [Killietalk] advice on lg hatch
Hi Edd, I have given up on trying to raise huge spawns of annuals. It's
a load of work and very difficult unless you have several large tanks to
devote to them and unlimited supplies of brine shrimp. And, what will
you do with them all if you do raise them?
My suggestion is to package up the fry in bags and donate them to your
local killie club's auction. I usually keep about 20 or 30 fry and give
away the rest.

Subject: [Killietalk] advice on lg hatch
Over the years I've never been much of an expert on annuals, but this
year I decided to work on my techniques and try and learn a few things.
I just hatched out 3 bags of Simpsonicthys flammeus eggs that I'd put
away back in April before we moved. It was about 5 weeks worth of
spawning. So the incubation here was about 6 months.
"Holy Peat Moss, Batman" I just (with an eyedropper) picked over 600 fry
out of the shoebox and there's at least that many left in there to
remove to other shoe boxes without the peat at the bottom.
Now I've had some 200+ spawns before but nothing this big. I know that
these SA's like to eat each other as they grow up._ I'm looking for your
advice on raising large hatches......(and its too cold here to set up a
pond in the back yard to raise them all!)
