Re: [Killietalk] Scanning Job, etc.
Hi Harry;
Thanks for your comments on the "JAKA Project". I think you may have
missed my note on Killitalk last week. As a new BOT member (1-1-2006) I
have pretty much volunteered to do the search for a commercial firm to do
the scanning and if that turns out to be rather more than we want to spend,
gather our internal resources and determine the feasibility of doing it
"in house".
As a professional programmer and computer consultant I have been
involved in jobs similar to this and understand the complexities. I have
corresponded with Peter in an E-Mail asking for some sort of blessing of
the board to really start digging into this. I have not heard back from him
and hesitate to do much until I get the okay. I assume I'll get the okay
but prefer to get some sort of official endorsement before I do get started
in case someone else has already been designated to do it.. You know the
old saw about assuming anything...
An early hurdle is the location of a full set of JAKA and Killie Notes
for me to work with (in a non-destructive way,of course).
