[Killietalk] NEWS UPDATE

   In case anyone is interested, I / Capt, Morgan, didn't make the BOT, so thats one down, but my hats off and thanks to those who voted for me, I really appreciate it, (I think :-)  I to see you's at WAKO in NOV., it'll be a great time !  Now on to the reg. scheduled program.
 
   I find this interesting that at times when there is nothing to be gained or lost by disseminating information in a more efficient way, the "choice" has been made not to, makes absolutley no sense. Forget the have's and have's-not perspective, thats bogus. If you have a monthly BNL and you have the thought process that the election results play the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED, drum role please aspect, then what the heck does that say about the rest of the BNL, which unfortunately could and had alot more content years ago. Some rational or even whoa, common sense should apply, and information that only makes sense to make available between ANY scheduled process should be passed on.
   Another subject, the JAKA / VHS to DVD conversion, project whatever you want to call it. The "project", which wasn't the KMI a "project", and I've heard as much as $40K was spent on that, and from what I've heard hasn't come close to breaking even ?  Just to get the facts straight I would like for someone in the know to validate this. But the point being, "IF" $40K was in fact spent, what makes this anymore outlandish. IMO I think there would be alot more interest in seeing this undertaken, and I think I would be surprised if it would be that much. I can say that converting a VHS to DVD can be done without to much trouble or cost. 
   I'd venture to say alot of people given the ability to access volumes of information via a "search" feature either from the comfort of the "couch", DVD remote or PC, would jump at the chance. Want a printed ver., hey, print it yourself in whatever manner you feel suits you, to each his own. I'm getting the impression "we". the AKA,  can't proceed or go forward with ANYTHING unless it meets certain "standards", and during that time what do we have, nada, nothing, zippo!
   If joe-schmo says he can scan a JAKA and has willing participants that want it, but someone says he can't do it unless it meets some criteria, whats that all about. I'd venture to say that if someone digitized a JAKA and offered it to the members at the cost of the media, shipping etc., say 2-3 bucks, there would be some fallout, Y/N ?
   Ok, well I need to take a break !
