Re: [Killietalk] Tubifex Tubifex (watersprite)

I have tiny ramshorns in the tank that I try to keep the population down. Still have great
growth on the 'sprite. I do use ferts and Flourish Excel, though. Here's a pic of a baby
Aphyosemion biv Mundemba fry that finally got caught out on the front glass this morning!
Who was that said "If your watersprite is happy, your killifish will be happy, too." Words
to that effect, anyway...

Probably is the snails,,,,
OR it could be those VERY small surface bugs...(you see any very small
specks that hop on top of the water?)
BTW, anyone know how to get rid of those things?

I can guarantee it's the snails, they infected one of my tanks that had
healthy growth of watersprite and it is now disappearing.

Jim,

My water is medium soft, not deadly sterile, like Hetch Hetchy. It is about
80-90 ppm tds with about 60 ppm as GH.

Most of my plants do OK, when I pay attention. Algae does fine when I don't.
:-)It seems to be just the Water Sprite that hasn't taken off.

I suspect the ramshorn snails are eating it, as it just gradually
disappears. I need to solve the problem, soon, as I'm getting some more to
try again.

I've also had some problems with water sprite my soft acid water. Hetch Hetchy stuff. I add about 1/4 teaspoon of R/O Right per 21/2 gals. and it
