Lee,

My planted tanks get some stump remover to boost K and NO3, and Kent
Freshwater Essential for traces, though my water actually has ample. The
iron level is at EPA max of just over 300 ppb, for example. [I won a big
jug in a raffle, or would be using Tropica Master grow.]

I do get some blue-green algae when I neglect the plant foods. I like
Lorraines response, a lot, because it fits my preconceived notion.
