Jim,

My water is medium soft, not deadly sterile, like Hetch Hetchy. It is 
about 80-90 ppm tds with about 60 ppm as GH.

Most of my plants do OK, when I pay attention. Algae does fine when I 
don't. :-)It seems to be just the Water Sprite that hasn't taken off.

I suspect the ramshorn snails are eating it, as it just gradually 
disappears. I need to solve the problem, soon, as I'm getting some more 
to try again.
