Have you tried different brands? There is a wild variability in quality 
control, and some of the biggest brand names are the most guilty. Rotted 
tubifex (no "el") worms, then freeze dried, are not likely to be very 
appetizing.

Bad fish food can smell rotted or moldy. Good food often stinks but it 
is different. How does one describe "healthy stinky" in ASCII? :-)

I used to use the ones that came as little cubes, that you could stick 
inside the glass. My Bettas ate them regularly, but I don't recall for 
sure if any killies rejected them or not. I think most took them, but 
with much less relish than live blackworms.
