I've seen many a positive post here on KT about Jehmco..."Finally" I can
only add to the growing piles of Kudos as another satisfied customer...If
you are buying hard to find items or in bulk, or equipping a fish room, I
can't imagine buying anywhere else
Oh, BTW pt II...as the number of your tanks increase (and they will), the
peat clogged filter "thing" gets old real fast, as does dealing with water
qual issues for each tank...at some point you might reach a work load/time
threshold...things you might consider (or things I wish I had done in the
1st place):
-Centralized filtration system for your tanks (really nice having one large
heater, one UV, one permanent pH/TDS monitor, ONE place to change water, one
filter to clean, blah blah) only downside is one point of failure (I will
always have "backup" equi)
-or at least consider a "enterprise level" air mover. I'm finally doing
both
-Using only 48" lighting: buying a lot of 18", 24" & 36" really hurts at the
cash register...
-Keeping good purchasing, birth & stock records from day 1...I'm finding it
REALLY helps when you are trying to nail down what works/didn't work for
incubation, rearing fry, etc etc..
>Anyone with any pairs/eggs that are somewhat close to hatching (from what I
have read it can >take months and months)
But there are "pros" to that...can't remember exactly which one of the
"regulars" here said it, but one thing that really stuck with me was when
someone advocated the virtues & flexibility for long incubation periods...As
the number of species increases and tank space & time gets tight, I didn't
realize you might eventually come to appreciate the advantages of
"archiving" your fish stocks; esp. with the simps & nothos....I find it
particularly satisfying to hatch a batch of fry after they've sat on the
shelf for 3-6 months
List: plz pardon the verbose post ...only trying to "contribute"
comprehensively when I get these breaks in time

Subject: [Killietalk] Dividing tanks? and show me your fish rooms
Hi all!
I would love to get some thoughts on using tank dividers. I have an extra 30
gallon long tank sitting empty and I am "toying" with the idea of dividng up
into 3-10 gallons
Thoughts?
My husband brought home 5 more 5 gallon tanks last night (I think hes trying
to take over my hobby) and I am almost to the point of creating a "fish
room" would love to hear your ideas on what you would "do over" if you had
the chance, How you set yours up, pictures would be good and are welcome.
I am also considering getting into "peat" divers, Northos....Anyone with any
advise for a newbie...what to start with ...ect
Anyone with any pairs/eggs that are somewhat close to hatching (from what I
have read it can take months and months) ...feel free to email me off
list....
Thank you in advance,
Lisa
